TUESDAY PREVIEW: Tom Izzo Just ... Anna Kournikova loves balls

A sinking duck will not be forgotten

He was teenager on the cusp of being a very important factor to his team. He was named the player of the week for four straight weeks last season, albeit that was from the scout team; the practice squad, if you will.

Todd Doxey never got his chance to shine on the gridiron. The Oregon Ducks football player, who redshirted last season, died yesterday. He drowned in the McKenzie River while inner tubing with some teammates.

Doxey, who was third on Oregon’s depth chart at his spot, is the first athlete to die while enrolled at Oregon since basketball player Jesse Nash drowned in 1987.

RIP, Todd Doxey. Let us forever wonder just how good you could have been.
