Not quite Rucker Park, and not quite real basketball
I’ve always been a huge supporter of basketball and hockey upgrading to bigger, most natural venues.

The NHL in snow? Spectacular. College basketball in football stadiums? Epic. The WNBA outside? Ehhh a good concept. Let’s drop the “W” and let the big boys play outside, like the Phoenix Suns will do in an exhibition to begin the 2008-09 season.
And heck, why not play a real regular-season game or two in Arizona, California, Texas or Florida during November or March — giving the sun belt one more eff-you résumé bullet point over the cold, lonely north.
Seems like a far more sensable idea than New York City in 90-degree humidity.
