Welcome to another installment of TSC’s Who’s Not Now. We’ve created the bracket of 16 athletes and figures of the sporting world who took the wrong paths in life and now must face humiliation on this blog. We’re breaking them down. You decide Who’s Not Now.
No. 6 Pacman “Adam” Jones, NFL cornerback vs. No. 11 Steve Bartman, Cubs dream killer
Why Jones is Not Now: Assault. Felony vandalism. Speeding. Nightclub altercations. Ahh, yes, just a few of the reasons Pacman “Adam” Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 season for “off-the-field issues,” including a fist fight and a shooting in a Las Vegas strip club that paralyzed manager Tommy Urbanski. During his time off of football, he signed with the professional wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He’s also gotten him into rapping. Whatever it is, he better find some other form of income. Footballs not going to be there much longer with all of his off-field drama.
Why Bartman is Now Now: Steve Bartman: The
man who stole took the hopes and aspirations of Chicago and shit on them. In game six of the 2003 National League Championship Series between the Florida Marlins and the Chicago Cubs at the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field, Bartman was said to change the fate of the Cubs and extending the curse of the goat. With one on and one out, and the Marlins down 3-0, Luis Castillo hit a foul ball down the left-field line. Cubs left fielder Moises Alou jumped for the ball along the wall but the ball appeared to be knocked away by Bartman, who was sitting in the front row. The Marlins went on to win the game and went to the World Series. Bartman virtually faded away after that, avoiding media and death threats alike.
TSC’s Pick: Steve Bartman

Note: You… cannot… stop… the 5-12 upsets! Yesterday’s match between No. 12 Mike Tyson and No. 5 Isiah Thomas proved worthy of yet another 5-12 upset — and our first of this series. It’s awesome, baby!
