Pearline Willimason was just minding her own business in Edmonton, north London the other day when her purse was snatched by a younger woman.

It didn’t matter that Williamson is 78-years-old. It does matter that she’s got great genes. The grandmother of hopeful British Olympic sprinter Simeon Williamson chased down the young woman and got her purse back.

Did we mention that she’s 78?

“When she took my purse I had to do something so I ran after her and grabbed her as hard as I could. She said she hadn’t taken it at first, so I shook the life out of her until she finally gave it back.”

Simeon Williamson, 22, said his grandma’s attitude would make her an Olympic gold medallist if she was a few years younger.

How embarrassing must that have been for the mugger? Not only does she stoop low enough to steal from the elderly, but she gets run down and shaken like a Polaroid picture.
