Why isn’t cheerleading an Olympic sport yet?

This just proves that you can have a cheer squad for almost anything. And we’re quite OK with that.

One question, though. How come cheerleading itself isn’t an Olympic sport? Think of the viewership that it would bring world wide. It would be Bring It On on a national stage. Men would be cheering for the gals to bring home the gold, raising the bar of the nation’s beauty. Women would want their country’s cheer squad to win it all so that they feel beautiful themselves.

Plus, everyone in the world gets to see dozens, if not hundreds of scantily clad women dancing for freedom and bragging rights. Doesn’t get more patriotic than that.

One day, my fellow Americans, we will have cheerleading as an Olympic sport. If table tennis, speed walking, badmitton and curling can be in the Games — and softball and baseball are going to be eliminated – then cheerleading should be allowed.
