Ginobili: Avoid contact with skunks

November 3rd, 2009 Trance No comments

BatmanManu ‘Batman’ Ginobili had to have a rabies shot after swatting a bat from mid-air the other night in Halloween fashion, according to a post on his Facebook page.

What’s interesting is that he didn’t kill the bat. It flew away outside he said, which should make environmentalists happy.

What is funny, though, is that Ginobili warned his readers to avoid contact with animals that could have rabies:

“Finally, please, don’t do it at home or anywhere, avoid contact with bats, skunks, raccoons, rats and animals like that.”

Of course this is a great word of advice, but when is the last time you had contact with a skunk? He doesn’t need to tell people to stay away from them. Stinky skunks are probably the most dreaded animal on the planet outside of Rosie O’Donnell.

Texas Tech Football Players Banned from Twitter

September 29th, 2009 Trance No comments

CarterTexas Tech football players are no longer allowed to Tweet, Twat, Toot, Twang or whatever the current past-tense term is for using the social networking site Twitter.com.

This comes after the indefinite suspension of star-lineman Brandon Carter.

“I am not a captain anymore and will not be playing this week,” the tweet read. “Good luck red raiders ill still be cheering on my family from the stands!!:).”

Also, senior linebacker Marlon Williams had a post on his Twitter account on Sunday calling out Leach for being late to a meeting.

Both accounts no longer are active.

Well, one thing is for certain: Now we know Carter has the Internet in the dark and damp cave he lives in.

Eric Gagne to play in Canada, sing Celine Dion songs

May 28th, 2009 Trance No comments

GagneThere used to be days when Eric Gagne stormed out of the bullpen in Los Angeles with the words “GAME OVER” flashing on the Dodger Stadium scoreboard. Well, it’s basically game over for Gagne now.

The pitcher has accepted a deal with the Quebec Capitales of the independent Can-Am League. Remember, this is a guy who has a 33-26 major league record with 187 saves and won the Cy Young in 2003. He just lost his touch.

Now he’ll be playing hockey in his spare time, singing Celine Dion jams, paying high taxes and no longer being associated with the team that Manny tarnished.

Pretty sweet, eh?

The 2009 Fiesta Bowl in 13 seconds

January 6th, 2009 Reezy No comments

Pregame, game and postgame, all in the amount of time it takes to spell Tostitos correctly. Buckeye Nation, who have suffered through three consecutive BCS bowl game losses, could probably use more beer than this man’s mug:

Note: We apologize for the randomly frustrating day of exceeding our fuckface CPU quota. If such message obstructed your daily Sports Culture fix, please note that binge drinking is a good Plan B and equally satisfying alternative. Heroine comes in a close third.

Colt McCoy’s girlfriend: Would you?

January 5th, 2009 Reezy 5 comments

Here’s a fine tribute to your Fiesta Bowl champion Texas Longhorns.

And by fine, we mean fine.

Texas quarterback, Colt McCoy, can match Tim Tebow not only on the gridiron, but in the bedroom.

McCoy’s girlfriend is hot. Her name is Rachel Glandorf, for those keeping score.
