Maybe there was some truth in all the scandals pointing to A-Rod’s alleged affair with Madonna.

In the wake of the news that Madonna is saying goodbye to her hubby, the divorce papers for Cynthia Rodriguez and the future home run king are being filed today, just weeks after news hit tabloids that A-Rod and Madonna were, ya know – doing it.

Not only is the divorce explained by the rumored affair, but so is A-Rod’s reason for not participating in the home run derby this week. He said he didn’t want to mess up his swing. Turns out, he got a new swing coach.

A-Rod joins Vanilla Ice, Dennis Rodman and maybe Brittany Spears to check the oil of the woman who’s most famous song is “Like a Virgin.” The 49-year-old also had a relationship with Tony Ward, a bisexual model and porn star, in the 1990s. Madonna swings like a damn monkey in the forest.

So that’s it. A-Rod was married to a beautiful woman and created two children — Natasha, 3, and Ella, 3 months — but he’s settling for a woman who’s old enough to be his mother and bisexual enough to be his father. We always knew Alex was a metrosexual, but this is rediculous.

Earle Lilly, Cynthia’s lawyer, said “A-Rod may be an All-Star baseball player, but he’s flunked the All-Star team as far as marriage is concerned.”

First of all, you can’t flunk an All-Star team. You simply don’t make the All-Star team. But that’s neither here nor there. The fact is, this is the absolute apex of a great gossip story that nobody really believed. Sure, Madonna sat in A-Rod’s VIP seats at a Yankees game. He caught a concert of hers. He was seen leaving her NYC apartment as late as midnight and her son was seen wearing a Yankees shirt.

But it still all could have been coincidence, right? Not anymore.

A-Rod’s “relationship with Madonna was the final straw for Mrs. Rodriguez,” Lilly said.
