The Princeton Review still doesn’t know anything; The Sports Culture ranks your top 20 party schools
The Princeton Review released its list of top party schools today, proving once again its writers have absolutely no idea what really goes on at schools.
Why They Suck:
- First off, how anyone can gauge a meter of “bigger” party school than others is absurd. Obviously, the bigger schools have bigger parties; that’s just standard math. Jokeshow schools like Montana State Junior Bumfuck College shouldn’t even be considered.
- And neither should any non-warm weather Sun Belt school inside the top-10, with the exception of Wisconsin.
- With that said, what in God’s name is Randolph-Macon College doing ranked SIXTH!?!?! And the University of New Hampshire at ELEVENTH!? It goes without saying those schools could never compare to Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, San Diego State and Arizona — but oh yeah, those six renowned schools were left off the list.
What am I going to do about it? Based on our biased personal and business experiences, here’s The Sports Culture’s Top 20 Party Schools nationwide:
- Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz
- University of Georgia, Athens, Ga
- University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz
- University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla
- San Diego State University, San Diego, Calif
- University of Texas, Austin, Texas
- University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisc
- Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla
- Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La
- Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio
- University of Colorado, Boulder, Co
- University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn
- University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala
- University of California-Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Calif
- Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich
- University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich
- West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.
- Penn State University, University Park, Pa
- University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Amherst, Mass
- University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas
Debate all you want.

were below penn state and jobber michigan schools.
shit, we flip cars and burn shit. and then jump off buildings.
ASU is definitely hottest around. 1,700 ppl at one desert party with 14 kegs, a dj, stripper pole, bonfire, dogs and burgers, pong and a MECHANICAL BULL. Yeah, that’s pretty ill.
The only thing with UMass is the numbers. Penn State and Michigan are both enormous schools. Penn State football holds over 100,000 fans in their stadium. That’s party.
And yes, the desert parties were a big reason for ASU’s No. 1 rank. U of A’s pool parties bring in 3,000 but ASU has 70,000 students.
The hottest party around is the one in my Pants!
You are an idiot, Penn State is the biggest and best party school there is. I get how you re-created the list but PSU has been at the top of the PR party list everytime and you dropped them all the way down to 18.
eat shit and choke on it
Auburn University should be in the top ten! All 3 bars in town stay open until 10:30 every night except Sunday and they’re packed until closing!
haha, nice jab at Auburn. Love it.
But B-Reezy, let me get this straight. Your abritrary list of party schools is brilliant, and PR’s arbritrary list of party schools is a joke? Did you conduct a survey? Do you hang out in *all* of these college towns partying? At least the PR had some metrics that make a little sense.
I have personally experienced the nightlife at four of those schools, while also having good friends at 12 others. I took PR’s list into deep consideration, and think I’ve made a pretty fair merger of my initial list with their list.
Obviously, I’m biased, and everybody thinks their school is No. 1; but until the day PartySchoolRankings.com sends a beat writer to every college in the country, who really knows.
But . . . Randolph-Macon College? Seriously?
how in the hell does boulder keep getting into this…there was a kid that died from freezing to death after drinking and his parents donated millionS to boulder police to combat underage drinking…there are no underage kids at the bars and it is near impossibe to buy alcohol with a fake id’s…it is just absurd to put them in with the party schools, I have 3 friends who go there right now and all say that the only thing it lacks is a real party scene…with that being said asu is full of a bunch of gell hair clubber fags and madison sould be number 1…kansas at number 20 too holy shit…this was the first year there football team has been good and they won the national championship I doubt they could be that low from people who have visited there and friends that go there it should be top 10
1700 people with 14 kegs… I hope they were kegs of bacardi 151.
Wheres Indiana University? Wikipedia the Little 500. That sun belt bullshit doesnt mean anything. And Michigan, really? Did you just pick out of a hat or something? (Lets see. +20K students. Check. University with notable athletics. Check. Alright, you can be on my list.)
GO. GO U. GO U-mass GO UMASS!
I was at that party that LAM is talking about.. Pretty sick! ASU def. knows how to party.
No Ole Miss, are you serious? Leaving them off is about as dumb as them putting Randolph Macon as a party school.
You only have to go to Morgantown for one weekend to know that WVU will always be the #1 party school.
Football season, Basketball season, Baseball season.
Doesn’t matter. Partying never stops. 24/7/365.
Go Mountaineers.
UCLA! Have you ever been to a UCLA party?
So coming from somone who originally was accepted and planned to go to U of A I like seeing it get some love in the top 5 but as a student goes to Penn State….it doesn’t belong ahead of PSU. I understand that RM and NH have nothing on U of A (yes I have partied there) but U of A is not Penn State. Come to happy valley during a football weekend and you’ll see a campus wide party in the tailgates, bars and stadium which holds 110,000 +…I love both schools but Penn State is a top 5 and UA is top 10
UCLA is a fucking joke! Have you been there? I mean seriously, drive 100 miles north to UCSB and party at a school who does not need sports to party.
Give someone at UCSB a red cup and they will always find a way to party!
I go to PSU and to drop them to 18 has to be a fucking joke…
I also visited WVU a ton and having them at 17 has to also be a fucking joke
the only you are right on is that small shitty schools have no business being on the princeton reviews party list.. they may drink a lot but they still have to hook up with the same people over and over again.
whoever wrote this crock of shit…. are you still in high school/home schooled/a fucking loser?
b-reezy….
just because you saw your first real life titty at a party in the desert doesn’t mean theyre automatically the best party school
I think someone who argues on the internet is more of a loser than a kid being home schooled.
Just sayin’
B-Reezy is a little closer than PR. But having LSU way down at #9 is ridiculous.
Not only do we party like hell in Baton Rouge but we do it with a lot of diversity. With 14 gay bars and 34% of our greeks being homosexuals, no one can compete with our embrace of all things party!
Halloween State Street, mifflin street block party, regent st for football games, and the fact that there is nothing else to do but drink and screw make Wisconsin the absolute #1 party school in America
Go to Madison anytime. Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer. While school is in session or while school is out, it doesn’t matter. Ever hear of Halloween on State Street or The Mifflin Block Party? Each of which draw AT LEAST 30,000 students from other schools. That’s not counting the students that already go to Madison. The place is insane, especially during football season. Just as Scott Van Pelt. WVU has nothing on Bucky.
You guys don’t know shit about Ann Arbor. Never ever has a good time been had in that god awful place. I’m from there. It’s terrible.
Just east of Ann Arbor…it’s ok. Central Mich has been retired from the list…just not fair to compare anyone else to that mess. Western Mich lights rowboats on fire (don’t ask). Mich Tech is nothing but snow drifts and beer bongs. But my heart is with MSU. One of my friends spent a night guarding Sparty one year…said friend was the Umich coach’s nephew. Sparty parties are just sick sick sick. Go Green!
I don’t know what’s funnier, your top ten list or some of the remarks. Keep up the good work!
UCLA and no USC or UCSB? Obviously you’ve never been to a southern california college campus
im sorry LAM but 1700 people and only 14 kegs…. im sure it was a good time and all but i would be one pissed off dude if i came to a big keg party and only got 1 or 2 beers if im lucky….. if my math is wrong im sorry but i think next time you need to get a better party planner…. ar try not to mention the 14 kegs when you talk about it… makes an awesome party sound a little lame….
West Virginia #17??!! The godfather of party schools needs to be recogzied as a pioneer.
And WVU should be in the top 5. Penn State and WVU definitely got the shaft after being heralded for years as top party schools. Still love seeing Arizona get recognized though. Fuck ASU, they’re idiots. Penn State and Arizona are actually intelligent too…with sports and partying. Game. Blouses.
dude if you think ohio state is a better party school than ohio university, you have never been to ohio university. Kids at ohio state would agree with me.
i finally agree with a top party school list. princeton doesnt know shit about party schools.
asu definitely deserves #1 and despite the huge drug bust and whatnot, sdsu is still one of the top party schools.
however, i think UC santa barbara should be on this list. that school is dedicated to partying.
Whoever wrote this article has his head so far up his ass. First off, your article is not at all biased to ASU or Arizona or the West Coast. Second, you made 3 points.
“First off, how anyone can gauge a meter of “bigger” party school than others is absurd. Obviously, the bigger schools have bigger parties; that’s just standard math. Jokeshow schools like Montana State Junior Bumfuck College shouldn’t even be considered.” – Um, yeah, isnt that what you attempt to do yourself, gauge a meter of bigger party schools? There goes point #1.
“And neither should any non-warm weather Sun Belt school inside the top-10, with the exception of Wisconsin.” – So wisconsin is a party school but nowhere else cold is? Get outside AZ much? See next point…
“With that said, what in God’s name is Randolph-Macon College doing ranked SIXTH!?!?! And the University of New Hampshire at ELEVENTH!? It goes without saying those schools could never compare to Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, San Diego State and Arizona — but oh yeah, those six renowned schools were left off the list.” – Isnt Ohio state and Michigan cold schools? Didnt you say OSU shouldnt be top 10 (no cold school except Wisconsin) and then he put them in the top 10?
You exemplify an ASU meathead. Go do some coke.
TEXAS @ Austin beats all you bastards. We do it night in and night out. We have one of the largest entertaiment districts period. Imagine about 40 acres of bars and clubs. Not counting the D bag frat parties. UT should be number one.
No love for the Hawks? Sporting News gave Iowa the #1 tailgating spot in the nation last year with the corner of Melrose and Melrose outside of Kinnick Stadium… (just somethin to think about)
But having been to Mad-town and a few others on the list. Bucky Badger should be right there at the top. Those kids throw down hard.
I was in Gainesville for the championships – yes, all 3. And the town was nuts. I’ve never been to many of the other schools on the list, but it’s hard to compete with that kind of mayhem. With that said, ASU and UW, among others were totally shafted by Princeton Review. Clearly they’ve never been to either town, or at least interviewed the wrong people. I’d have to say that overall, this list is more accurate by far, even if UF wasn’t ranked #1. GO GATORS!
Hello webmaster
I would like to share with you a link to your site

You can scratch Ann Arbor from the list, nerd school. I grew up near UCSB and I know what party school is. I admire U of M’s school spirit during game days, but drinking a few keg beers with your uncle Bob while watching the game does not a party school make. Congrats on placing ASU up top where it belongs though.
I go to R-MC and we know how to party
