A recent report from Boston College’s independent newspaper claims that authorities there are determined to crack down on student drinking during traditional drinking holidays (you know, Halloween, St. Patty’s Day, Easter, etc). If this trend continues, it could be the scariest thing to come out of BC since Doug Flutie.

Experts have coined the term ‘Alcoholiday’ – kudos to them for their clever naming abilities–and have figured out that they can ruin everyone’s fun by raising police presence during these days.

But what would New Year’s Eve be without drinking six bottles of champagne? What would Arbor Day be like if we didn’t drink a half gallon of vodka while thinking about planting trees? Are fireworks that impressive when you’re not holding an empty bottle of whiskey?

God bless YouTube. This video of Charles Barkely downing Patron recently found its way online. After seeing this, you’ve gotta wonder if he ever has a flask in his lap and takes quick hits from it when he’s not on camera, leading to the always entertaining Sir Charles we see on TNT. We may never know, but we really don’t care. He’s a guy you can’t help but love forever.

Paul Pierce hammered Kobe Bryant on defense in the second half of Game 4.

Now, as the nightlife in Los Angeles begins to pick up on Thirsty Thursday, just a few hours after the big game, Kobe is getting hammered by shot glasses and a 36-pack of Bud Light.

Maybe in the process of his binge alcohol consumption, Kobe won’t choke the way his Lakers did with a 24-point lead in a pivotal Finals game.

Asked how he’ll will take the sting away: “Whine about it tonight,” Kobe said. “A lot of wine, a lot of beer. A couple shots; maybe like 20 of them. Digest it and get back to work tomorrow. ”

“Digest it?” Not even the heaviest Thirsty Thursday college frat boys could just “digest it” and make an 8 a.m. class on Friday morning.
