Big Baby, we’ve seen your man-boobs already before, drenched in champagne with dudes. But that’s not how a World Champion should roll. Why not provide a better scenario like, oh, say, a bar with skimpy Celtics dancers that would do anything to “make the team.”

Big Baby served as a judge in last night’s 2008 Celtics Dancers finals at some sketch-lookin’ bar. (Seriously, that shimmy green light reflecting on the old hardwood makes these dancers looks dirrrty).

Steve Nash was in New York City on Wednesday, but he wasn’t there for the NBA Draft the next day. The Suns’ point guard and USA soccer captain Claudio Reyna put together an 8-on-8 celebrity soccer game for charity at Sara D. Roosevelt Park featuring NBA players and world soccer stars.
Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, Raja Bell, Leandro Barbosa, Thierry Henry, Claudio Reyna and Saloman Kalou took part in the event, among others.
Nash is the soccer guru out of all the NBA guys in the bunch and it showed when his team (yellow) won 9-4. But it was Davis who stood out among the hardwood ballers.
Though it was an event that was just for kicks – literally – Davis, wearing a huge smile the entire time, showed his true competitiveness. He juked defenders, he headed the ball with his cap on, he pumped up his sneaks, and yes, he earned a yellow card:

The NBA was brilliant in coming up with these type of advertisements: Videos where two opponents are split down the middle, look you in the eye and rattle off a motivating monologue that pumps you up more than the Rocky soundtrack.
Then they asked Magic Johnson and Larry Bird to do it, and well, it just wasn’t the same. As the two legends were telling me how rivalries remain and the feelings remain the same, I couldn’t help but wonder how many takes it took each man to complete the 24-second ad. Bird’s droopy eye had me feeling like he would pass our any moment.
And as much as I make fun of these two, I have to bow down to both of them for being so great in their respective careers. It also made me think about the top old guys in sports right now.
