Surprise, surprise: Nike’s workers abused

There are some things that go on in the world that you know about, but sort of just put it on the back burner until you actually get a grasp on the reality of the situation. We know that illegal immigrants come across the US borders but we’re blown away when we see the actual numbers. We know that elephants take massive dumps, but, again, we’re shocked to see the volume (though oddly enough, elephant crap can be recycled).

And, we know that Michael Jordan makes more from Nike that all Nike factory workers combined, but it isn’t eye-popping until we see some numbers or get some reports of the conditions that these workers are exposed to. Nike said Friday that one of its Malaysian factories has violated major worker rights violations, including filthy living conditions, garnished wages and withheld passports of foreign workers.

OJ Mayo’s new kicks are toxically hideous

Remember that list of shoes we came up with that OJ Mayo would never let fly? That needs to be modified from “would never” to “should never.”

Then the yellow kicks he sported on Memphis’ photo day should be added to the list.

They’re just nasty.

Seriously, it looks like he partied all night, woke up and puked bile straight down. First Kevin Durant, now Juice. David Stern should create a fine for wearing these shoes.

Shoes O.J. Mayo will never let fly with his new Nike contract

So far Ovinton J’Anthony Mayo is the most successful player to get drafted last Thursday. The newest member of the Memphis Grizzlies organization inked a four-year deal with Nike, which we saw coming when the kid was in the seventh grade.

There will most certainly be an O.J. Mayo shoe on the market before too long, so watch out sneaker heads. You may see something along the lines of what he wore when he was a USC Trojan or he may change it up a bit. But we’re pretty sure you won’t see any of these shoes with Mayo’s name attached to it:
